Frequently asked questions
Please see our FAQ that should answer some of your more common questions, if not please email us support@logitbox.com
Is my specialty supported?
The Logitbox system supports training in a growing list of medical and surgical specialties.
If you can’t see your specialty when you are setting up your account please contact us on support@logitbox.com us and we will add it to the system.
I have more than one specialty, does Logitbox support this?
Yes, Logitbox works in multiple specialties and hospitals and even training across different countries, though at the moment we only support the UK, Irish and Australian career structures. If you would like to sign up in another country then please email support@logitbox.com and we will setup an account for you if we are able.
What can I log?
A standard Logitbox logbook is set up to record medical procedures, clinic patients, admissions and continuing professional development, including both training events and contributions to medical research.
What about super-specialist activities such as echo training and ultrasound?
A powerful logbook category system means we have a growing list of super-specialist logbook types (including dedicated logbooks for training in MSK ultrasound and echocardiography, for example). If your super-specialist activity isn’t covered then contact us on support@logitbox.com and we will work with you to develop a specific logbook.
Where can I get guidance on how to keep a logbook?
For UK trainees, the best guidance on what evidence you need to keep of your practice is from the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board. For specifics, you will need to look at the Gold Guide for your physician specialty.

Is my information secure?
Yes! All information you upload to us is stored in encrypted form, on secure servers behind state-of-the-art firewalls. The only access to this data is via our web or mobile applications.
Is patient information on Logitbox legal?
As long as it is not possible to identify individual patients from the data held on Logitbox, your logbooks here are completely legal. Logitbox is not designed to hold identifiable medical records and you must not store any details or combinations of details that identifies an individual.
What patient information can I store on Logitbox?
It is easier to define what you should not store on Logitbox. You should not store anything that identifies an individual patient. For example: a whole name, or whole hospital number is unacceptable. Initials, or the first four digits of the hospital number, may be acceptable. It is worth remembering that this is no different from if you were holding your logbook in paper form. Further information is included in the terms and conditions of use of the system.
Where can I get guidance on legal issues?
Guidance on what to record in your logbook is available both here and from the UK General Medical Council. The Office of the Information Commissioner provides useful guidance on what constitutes “personal data” and “sensitive personal data”. Logitbox is not designed to hold personal data relating to any third party identifiable individual (eg: your patients or your colleagues). Users in other jurisdictions should consult their local guidance and laws.
